Who is responsible
Vawnai is a sole trader business operated by Chris Vaughan in the United Kingdom. Vawnai is the data controller for information collected through this website. You can reach me at hello@vawnai.co.uk.
What this site collects
If you complete the contact form, I receive the name, email address, and any company name, phone number, topic and message you choose to provide. The submission also records the date and time, the page you submitted from, and the IP address the request came from, which helps identify automated spam.
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It does not set any cookies of its own. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads.
Why I use it, and on what basis
The information is used solely to read and respond to your enquiry, and where relevant to prepare a proposal. The lawful basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the contact form, together with my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
You will not be added to a mailing list. I do not send marketing emails and I do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing purposes.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are delivered by email to a mailbox hosted with IONOS and are held in that mailbox and in my email client. If an enquiry becomes a client relationship, the details are kept in my normal business records.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to actual client engagements are kept for six years after the end of the engagement, which is the period required for UK tax and accounting purposes.
Who else sees it
Nobody, other than the service providers that make the website and email work: IONOS, who host this site and the email account, and Google, whose font service the pages load styling from. I do not pass your details to any other third party unless you ask me to, or unless I am legally required to.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict how I use it, or object to my using it. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@vawnai.co.uk and I will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how I have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised date at the top.
